Editorial independence

Editorial conclusions are made independently. Affiliate relationships do not determine rankings, conclusions, inclusion, exclusion or editorial opinion. A product does not need an affiliate relationship to be covered, recommended or criticised, and the absence of one is never a reason to leave a product out.

Commercial arrangements are disclosed on the pages they affect. They do not change a product's stated research status.

Research status system

Every product-level evaluation carries one of three statuses. They describe the work behind the assessment — nothing more, nothing less. Statuses are set deliberately and are never inferred or upgraded automatically.

Researched & Evaluated

Used when Moonglow Power has researched a product using available specifications, manufacturer documentation, credible third-party information, owner and user experiences and other relevant sources, but has not completed hands-on evaluation. This status does not mean the product was physically tested, measured or used by us.

Hands-On

Used only when Moonglow Power has actually used or directly evaluated the product.

Long-Term Tested

Used only when Moonglow Power has used the product over an extended period sufficient to support meaningful durability or ownership observations.

Manufacturer claims

Manufacturer specifications and marketing claims may be referenced, and are identified as such. Published specifications are presented as published specifications; anything we observed ourselves is described as our own observation. Where a figure is a rating rather than a measured result — capacity, surge output, cycle life, charge time — we say so.

How products are evaluated

Evaluation is judgement applied to a use case, not a scoring formula. Moonglow Power does not publish a numeric rating system. Factors that commonly influence an assessment include:

• Battery capacity and usable output
• Inverter capability, including continuous and surge behaviour
• Battery chemistry and expected cycle life
• Charging options and charge time
• Solar input and controller limits
• Portability, size and weight
• Expandability
• Warranty and support
• Intended use and the loads it realistically covers
• Safety features and protections
• Value relative to the intended use

Updates

Guides, reviews and comparisons may be updated as products change, specifications change, new models appear, availability changes, or additional research becomes available. We do not commit to a fixed update schedule. Each page shows when it was last updated.

Corrections

If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, tell us through our contact page and include the page and the specific claim. Material factual errors are corrected once verified, and significant corrections are noted on the page.

Software and AI-assisted tools

Software, including AI-assisted tools, may be used to support research organisation, drafting, editing, formatting and production workflows. Published editorial conclusions and factual claims remain subject to human editorial review. AI tools do not use products, perform testing or generate research status labels.

Demonstration content

While the site is being built, some pages exist to demonstrate templates and layout. Demonstration pages are visibly labelled, are excluded from search indexing, and use clearly marked placeholder products with no retailer links, prices or ratings. Demonstration content is never an actual recommendation.

Safety

Our coverage is informational. Follow manufacturer instructions and observe electrical ratings and applicable codes. Run fuel-burning generators outdoors, away from occupied structures and openings, as directed by authoritative safety guidance. Consult a qualified professional for permanent electrical installations or transfer equipment.
